How far are you willing to go for Mister Tender?
At fourteen, Alice Hill was viciously attacked by two of her classmates and left to die. The teens claim she was a sacrifice for a man called Mister Tender, but that could never be true: Mister Tender doesn’t exist. His sinister character is pop-culture fiction, created by Alice’s own father in a series of popular graphic novels.
Over a decade later, Alice has changed her name and is trying to heal. But someone is watching her. They know more about Alice than any stranger could: her scars, her fears, and the secrets she keeps locked away. She can try to escape her past, but Mister Tender is never far behind. He will come with a smile that seduces, and a dark whisper in her ear…

Mister Tenders Girl by Carter Wilson was a fast-paced, creepy, and chilling story inspired by the real life Slender Man case, when two young girls attempted to kill their friend because they were obsessed with the fictional Slender Man.

Told in the past and the present time, Mister Tender's Girl follows Alice Hill, who was viciously attacked when she was fourteen by two of her classmates and left for dead.  Her classmates believed that they would be rewarded by the fictional character, Mister Tender, if they sacrificed Alice.  Alice's own father invented the character of Mister Tender for his popular graphic novel series.

Years later, Alice, now in her twenties, has been trying to move on from the horrific attack and live a normal life.  She's changed her name and moved far away from where her attack took place and she's been living a somewhat quiet life.  However, she is soon sent a mysterious package by someone claiming to be watching her, someone who knows all about her.  Crazy things start to happen and Alice's life turns chaotic and dangerous.

This was a chilling and engrossing read that I definitely recommend, especially if you love a good thriller.  Alice was an interesting character.  She tried to move on with her life after surviving a vicious attack, but she couldn't seem to escape her past.  In the present day, Alice suffers from anxiety and crippling panic attacks.  Her panic attacks become worse as she learns that someone is watching her every move.  I loved trying to figure out who was obsessed with Alice, and there were definitely a lot of surprises throughout the story.  I wanted a little more from the ending, but overall, this was an intriguing and thrilling story.
