Natasha doesn't remember how she ended up in the icy water that night, but she does know this--it wasn't an accident, and she wasn't suicidal. Her two closest friends are acting strangely, and Natasha turns to Becca, the best friend she dumped years before when she got popular, to help her figure out what happened.

This was the first book I read by Sarah Pinborough and I really loved her writing and thoroughly enjoyed this story. 13 Minutes is an intriguing mystery, filled with drama, suspense, and a surprising twist.

I love a good mystery and this story was definitely a well-crafted mystery that I didn't want to stop reading.  The story begins when 16 year old Natasha is found in icy water and is miraculously revived after having been dead for 13 minutes.  Natasha wakes up in the hospital, having no memory of how she ended up in the water.  Her two best friends, Hayley and Jenny, seem ultra suspicious, so Natasha seeks help from her ex-best friend, Becca, to try to find out the truth about what really happened.

Some of the characters in this book were just horrible, the ultimate mean girls.  These characters reminded me of some of the girls in my high school (many, many, many years ago) who would walk around like they owned the place and treated most of their classmates like crap.  Ugh.  Those girls were the worst.

Natasha, Hayley, and Jenny are the mean girls in this story.  I did not like these characters at all. They all seemed like narcissistic brats who thought they were better than everyone else.  Then there's Becca, who was an interesting character, but she sometimes was very annoying.  She was insecure and gullible, however, I did like her character more as the story progressed.

I loved the mystery in this story.  What really happened to Natasha that night?  Who can be trusted?  This book really kept me on the edge of my seat!

13 Minutes has an engrossing plot, well-developed characters, and tons of suspense and thrills.  I look forward to reading more books by Sarah Pinborough.

*Recommended For:  Readers who love a good mystery/thriller that will keep them guessing until the very end.  FYI:  There are sexual situations and drug use in this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 Stars)
